Medicare rebates

Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions within a calendar year, under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care. In order to access this, a Mental Health Care Plan/Review must previously be obtained from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. For a 50+ minute session the rebate is $126.50 for a clinical psychologist and $86.15 for a psychologist who does not hold clinical psychology endorsement.

Further information can be found in the Australian Psychological Society Fact Sheet https://www.psychology.org.au/for-the-public/Medicare-rebates-psychological-services

Private Health Insurance

Rebates for psychological services are also offered by most private health funds. Please check with your insurer the details of your potential rebate entitlements.

Cancellation Fee

We work on an appointment basis which ensures that 50+ minutes is allocated only to you. It is often impossible to fill this time with another appointment unless sufficient time is given to us advising of cancellation. In order to avoid cancellation or non-attendance fee, at least 24-hour’s notice must be provided. Otherwise, we regrettably charge a cancellation/non-attendance fee which is equivalent to the full session fee. Unfortunately, no Medicare rebate is available for cancellation/non-attendance fees.
